SINDH EDUCATION FOUNDATION (Govt of Sindh)SEF's IT and Admin undertake comprehensive data profiling activity. SEF’s Information Technology and Administration teams conducting a schools profiling activity in order to collect schools and children’s data from schools being supported under the Integrated Education Learning Program (IELP) and Rural Based Community Schools (RBCS). The purpose will serve in shape of having a comprehensive, validated set of data of schools and enrollment. Abdullah Abbasi (Director, Administration and IT, SEF), the SEF’s efficient IT and Administration Department team has been travelling across Sindh giving presentations on SEF’s Education Management Information System (EMIS) and data profiling forms as well as briefing the school operators and regional teams on how to fill out the data in a clean manner. Abbasi, the IT team drafted new data profiling forms along with data/picture profiling guidelines and protocols, and were shared with program teams based in Karachi and regions for their understanding and feedback. Subsequently, form templates were circulated to the SEF’s regional offices dotted around in Sindh, who, then, disseminated to the same forms to schools operators – Individuals as well as organizations – for comprehensive data collection. The team visited Sukkur, Khairpur, Dadu, Shewan, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Shaheed Benazirabad and participated in the orientation sessions organized by the respective Regional Heads, supervised data entry activity, provided timely rectification and guidelines to issues pertaining to the data entry.
Certificates were also distributed among the participants on successful completion of the session. As a result of collaboration of the SEF’s IT and Administration Departments, the data has been successfully collected, entered by the regional teams and shared with respective program heads for verification and validation. Important conditions set out as part of the school contracts were also explained to the school operators to ensure they understand the conditions and consequences in case of violation of any of them. The school operators agreed to conditions and expressed great vigor towards running the schools with commitment and dedication, which would surely result in a prosperous Sindh. The aim of the visit was to facilitate school operator in terms of infrastructure development, classroom setup and curriculum development. Suggestions on infusing health and hygiene habits in children through various reinforcement was also given and school operator was also asked to hold periodic parent- teacher meeting as an act of community involvement. Sindh Education Foundation paid tribute to the martyrs of Army Public School at a small ceremony organized today at SEF head office. Prayers were held to pay homage to the innocent children who lost their lives in the brutal act, a year ago.

SEF’s resources dedicated and utmost commitment of the school operators towards providing quality education to the children from rural areas is also evident from the results. They express great satisfaction over the results and accredited it to the students’ willingness to excel in the field of education. SEF’s technical teams are directly involved in teachers’ professional development, assessment of teachers and schools, and field support visits which are made to ensure the quality of education in schools and whether teachers are conducting lessons in classrooms as per the standards. SEF is proud of these students and envisions a Sindh where the number of out- of- school children is minimized to naught and where quality education is available to children from the remote, underserved areas at their doorsteps. Contracts are being signed in phases and remaining successful organizations and individuals would be invited to sign the contracts subsequently. Stringent evaluation of proposals was adopted by the selection committees to make the process transparent and merit- based.
