Leaking coolant - Mazda 6 Forums UKI bought the car 4 months ago. I bought it the heater was not blowing hot air, it was getting worse and worse, so I replaced thermostat (shouldn't as the old was was OK), drained old coolant and filled with Mazda F2. I was perfect for 2 months.
For the last 1 month I have been noticing the heater to blow colder and colder air. Hack Biet Doi Than Toc Phien Ban Moi Truy here. I also noticed there is a small amount of coolant around the black pipe that is connected from the reservoir to radiator (Picture 2). The black pipe is loose and I assume the coolant must be leaking from there. I have checked and there are no other spillages or puddles under the car. My question is: Can I simply seal that black pipe or is this pipe loose on purpose, eg in the event of overfilling the radiator, so excess coolant can be pushed out? Also, if there is not enough coolant (must be not enough since heater doesn't not blow hot air properly as explained above) why the coolant in reservoir tank is between min- max when cold?
